This is NOT a sponsored post! We purchased tickets for the Soaring Eagle ourselves and these are our thoughts!
This past Saturday evening, The Peek'n Peak Resort was hosting an event by the name Bonfires & Brews. Live music, delicious brews next to a fire pit. A glorious summer evening! While at The Peek'n Peak Resort, we found out that the Soaring Eagle had opened the day before. Being all about adventure, my husband and I darted over to the attraction to scoop out the details.
At only $10 a person per ride on the Soaring Eagle. You could upgrade and get two rides on the Soaring Eagle for $15 a person, we decided to give the Soaring Eagle a try! I wasn't expecting to ride any such thing so I wasn't dressed for the occasion whatsoever. Heck, I didn't even bring along my DSLR since I assumed my evening would be filled with sipping brewskies. No need for a fancy camera for that! So my cellphone photos will have to do for the review lol.
Basically the easiest way to describe the Soaring Eagle is by calling it a zip line. You sit side-by-side in a buckled chair. You then go 130 feet up and go for a thrilling ride on the 1400 foot zipline, experiencing the breathtaking views of The Peek n Peak resort!
For $10 bucks it is totally worth it!
The ride down itself isn't intense at all. I was expecting a roller coaster feeling and that definitely wasn't the case. I would be 100% comfortable bringing my 5 year old on the Soaring Eagle since it was a pretty calm coast down to the ground. My only regret is not knowing anything about the Soaring Eagle ahead of time so I could have prepared a little better and enjoyed the coast down the line. I was half freaking out because I thought it was going to be fast. Once I realized the Soaring Eagle was going to be a nice, relaxing ride, we were already close to the ground.
Would I do it again?
I definitely want to bring my daughter to ride the Soaring Eagle! Definitely a family friendly attraction. If you're a thrill seeker, I would suggest trying one of the many other rope courses and zip lines The Peek'n Peak Resort offers. Save the Soaring Eagle for a family outing :)
