The season when you’re kiddo comes home from school with every sickness known to man has arrived, and the germaphobe in me just wants to crawl into a hole with a jar of edible cookie dough and a case of wine, and not come out until spring arrives. But let’s be real, we all know a case of wine isn’t going to last me that long, so I’ve decided to put the hand sanitizer down and just embrace the snotty chaos this year.
Since my daughter has already graced our home with two rounds of colds this year, I thought I would be nice and share some of my tips, tricks & hacks dealing with sick little ones.
1. Water Is Your Child’s Bestie!!!
Kids tend to hate water, but if you’re unsure of what bug your child brought home, water will be your safest bet! If your kiddo ends up puking, water is easy to clean up compared to something stinky like milk! If your child doesn’t puke, at least they are nice and hydrated!
2. Stock The House With Tissues.
The first round of colds to make it through our household, ran us right out of tissues. We figured toilet paper would make an ok replacement and joke was on us. Unless you’re comfy with your child rockin a red nose a week after the sniffles say peace out, load up on those tissues when you spot them on sale at the market! Once you’re child is healthy again and you eventually come down with that god awful sickness, sick you will thank healthy you for being a tissue hoarder.
3. Baking Sheets
Thats right, baking sheets! If you aren’t fancy and own breakfast in bed tables, the next best thing to use is a baking sheet. You’re child will be able to use it as a table to do anything requiring a hard surface, keeping them tucked away in that bed until they are well again.
4. Dollar Store Books & Coloring Books
Just because your kiddo is sick, doesn’t mean the “I’m bored” cries end. Your child will be just as bored, but will be coughing in between the boredom cries. Dollar Store Coloring Books and Books can equal countless hours of in bed entertainment once that tablet dies. Plus, that baking sheet I mentioned above will come in handy when those crayons come out!
5. Mom-created Lolleez™ Throat Soothing Lollipops
Does you’re kid hate anything Medicine related?! Mine sure does, and that counts cough drops! At 5 years old, my daughter just doesn’t understand that I’m trying to help her with modern medicine! Giving her Lolleez™ Soothing Lollipops however, total game changer for us! That frown has turned upside down now that she realizes her throats will be feeling a million times better due to a lollipop!
A Little About Lolleez™
When it came to sore throats, mom of four and health coach, Melissa Evans couldn’t find anything to “eez” her kids’ throats or her mind. Thus, the idea for Lolleez™ was born. Lolleez™ are organic, worry-free, throat soothing lollipops for kids, that offer a simple solution to a simple problem.
What Makes Lolleez™ Different?
First, it’s the ingredients – Lolleez™ are made from USDA Certified Organic ingredients and ingredients you can pronounce and understand, like natural fruit pectin and organic honey. They are also Non-GMO as well as gluten, dairy and nut free.
Second, it’s the worry-free shape – Lolleez™ are flat and on a stick versus a round ball, which is a potential choking hazard.
Lastly, it’s the flavors – Lolleez™ comes in three delicious kid (and adult) friendly flavors: Watermelon, Strawberry and Orange Mango. After surveying hundreds of kids, Lolleez™ founders determined that traditional flavors like cherry and grape have a negative association that is tied to medicines.
Where To Purchase?
Lucky for us, Lolleez™ are easy to find since they are available at CVS, Stop & Shop, and on Amazon! Then starting in November at Babies ‘R’ Us.
Lolleez™ also come in packs of 15 pops: Watermelon, Strawberry, Orange Mango and a Variety Pack for a suggested retail price of $6.99.
