Trying new restaurants is literally one of my favorite pastimes. Nothing better than sampling a chefs yummy creations!!!
When I noticed Mother’s Day was days away, I figured it would be the perfect opportunity to try SEAR Steakhouse in Buffalo, NY. The restaurant had been on my bucket list for awhile so I told my husband to make a reservation!
SEAR is a modern take on the traditional steakhouse and features a contemporary, chef-driven menu, an extensive wine list and well-curated craft cocktail program.
SEAR marks the first collaboration between some of Buffalo’s best: restaurateur David Schutte of Oliver’s and Creekview Restaurants, former Buffalo Bills running back Fred Jackson, cornerback Terrence McGee and punter Brian Moorman, David Anderson, President and CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield, Dave Pietrowski, President of LoVullo Associates and Ron Raccuia, President of ADPRO Sports.SEAR has also partnered with Pegula Sports and Entertainment in various aspects of the business including marketing, branding and creative services. The SEAR experience promises to be completely unparalleled to anything that we have seen in downtown Buffalo.
Located in the heart of Buffalo just a few minutes from Canalside, SEAR is a modern steakhouse situated on the first floor of the Avant and Embassy Suites Hotel.
The best thing about the location of Sear is that it is indeed inside of a hotel which means Valet parking! No need to pay ridiculous downtown parking prices. Just validate your parking at Sear before leaving and your valet parking is FREE!
COMPLEMENTARY BREAD SERVICE
Who doesn’t love bread! I swear carbs are life. Sear goes on the awesome list of restaurants that serve complementary bread!!!! The complimentary bread service Parker House rolls topped with rosemary butter and salsa verde for dipping. Beyond delicious!
SEAR Executive Chef JT Nicholson showcases an innovative menu featuring a wide variety of prime and dry-aged steak selections, fresh seafood, creative small plates, sauces and side dishes. 350 wines have been hand-selected to be apart of an extraordinary wine list. SEAR proudly focuses on using locally grown produce and meat and also features impressive cocktails, desserts and after-dinner drinks.
We Started with the Wagyu Tartar, I had the Wagyu Flat Iron with asparagus for my main course. My husband has the Steak Fritas & my daughter had the Mac & Cheese!
Honesty hands down my new favorite steakhouse in Buffalo. The restaurant would be considered on the pricey side. However, if you are into high end dining, you would be rather happy with the prices. I never once glanced at the menu thinking ripoff. Prices were fair and food was amazing! My wagyu Flat Iron was literally to die for and ran about $40. The Steak Fritas was in the $20’s if you are looking for a budget friendly meal option.
The only downside was no kids menu which was rather shocking since the place was packed with families. Sear will work with you though and help create a kid friendly meal option. They turned their lobster Mac & Cheese into a super cheesy plain Mac & Cheese which tasted amazing. I may have taken a scoop for myself since the portion was ridiculously big for a 6 year old.
If you find yourself in Downtown Buffalo and have a steak craving, SEAR is definitely the place to go! Two thumbs up from us here at The Trophy WifeStyle :)
