Patriotic Sugar Cookies!!! I needed an excuse to make cookies and this is what I came up with lol.... Memorial Day is just weeks away, so hey! I had cute sprinkles so it worked.
This is just a basic, no chill dough recipe. Super yummy!!! Honestly a favorite of mine. Then I topped with star sprinkles that I picked up from Walmart. Easy to find & super affordable since they are Great Value brand. Right in the baking section.
• 2 Sticks Butter (Room Temperature)
• 1 Cup Granulated White Sugar
• 1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
• 1 egg
• 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
• 1 1/2 cups All Purpose Flour
Preheat oven to 350° F. In the mixing bowl, mix butter, egg, vanilla and sugar together until smooth.
In a separate bowl combine baking powder with the flour and then add a little at a time to the wet ingredients. The dough will be stiff.
DO NOT CHILL THE DOUGH. Scoop into tablespoon sized balls and place on a nonstick pan.
Slightly flatten each ball with a spoon/spatula.
Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes. Remove from oven and place sprinkles on the cookies. They should stick due to the cookies being warm.
Serve & enjoy!
