This is seriously one of my favorite recipes for this time of year!!! I always look forward to chillier weather just for the food. I hate the cold, like Ughhh!!!!!! Why can't people hibernate like bears?!?!? But I will admit the foods that go with not so pleasant weather are pretty delicious. Why can't summer foods be as fun? Even the most fanciest of kabobs have nothing on cold weather foods!
Afew years back, I believe my daughter was still an infant, so that long ago, we went to my father in laws house for Christmas Eve dinner & a little more simpler version of this was served to us. When I first heard this was what was for dinner I panicked! Apples on pork chops?!?! Ewwwwww.... I was worried I was going to have to sneak bites into a napkin or something so I didn't come off as either being rude or anorexic. My hubbies family already has me stereotyped as some rich, stuck up playboy model FL girl & not as the overly nice, socially awkward girl that I really am, so I was legit freaking!
Thankfully the universe was on my side that evening & I ended up thinking this was the tastiest thing ever and when I asked for the recipe I was told it was a Kraft recipe from SAMs Club. So I googled it and ended up making my own version. Subbing real apples for the canned, and stuffing the porkchops with stuffing instead of placing my porkchops ontop.
Hope you enjoy this as much as I do :):)
