This is NOT a sponsored post! I purchased all these items myself and these are my thoughts!
The Hello Kitty Cafe Truck has been pouncing all over the country this Spring and it just happened to stop in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania this past weekend at the Ross Park Mall! Living two and a half hours a way, you bet this Hello Kitty addict woke her hubby and kiddo up at 6am on a Saturday so we could make the trek to Pittsburgh to be a few of the first people to indulge in all the Hello Kitty deliciousness!
We made it to Pittsburgh at around 9:30. Thirty minutes before the Hello Kitty Cafe opened, and there was already a decent line formed. It was a gloomy morning too and it didn't keep people away at all! Once the Hello Kitty Cafe opened at 10, it took us about thirty minutes to reach the front to order our treats! When we left the mall around noon, it was an hour and a half wait from front to back! We were glad to get their early!
Prices for The Hello Kitty Cafe were exactly what I expected. Definitely not on the cheap side, but at the same time not too over priced. Not sure what baked good prices are in your neck of the woods, but a box of macarons at one of our favorite local malls runs about $15, so prices were fair since everything was Hello Kitty themed.
The main reason I had to be one of the first people in the Hello Kitty Cafe line was because of this bag! If you spend $25+ on Hello Kitty food items, unfortunately merchandise does not count, you get a free Hello Kitty Cafe tote bag! Thankfully, they still had bags when we made it to the front of the line. If I were to guess, the first 100-150 customers with qualifying purchases, most likely scored the free bag! They definitely ran out of bags when we left the mall for good around noon.
Most Asked Questions
When I spammed Instagram with all of my Hello Kitty Cafe photos, I was slammed with questions! Here are a few that stood out!
1. Does The Hello Kitty Cafe Take Credit Cards?
Yes!! The Hello Kitty Cafe takes Credit Cards.
2. How Did You Find Out About The Hello Kitty Cafe Locations?
Check the Hello Kitty Cafe Facebook page events section!
3. Do You Get To Meet Hello Kitty At The Hello Kitty Cafe?
No, Hello Kitty does not travel with the Hello Kitty Cafe.
4. Is the Crowd Kids Or Adults?
Tricky question! Safe to say most of the fans were adults & they dragged their kids to the Hello Kitty Cafe with them. So many Hello Kitty loving adults with kids decked out in Hello Kitty gear. Every once in awhile I would see a kid excited to be there, but for the most part, lots of Hello Kitty loving adults lol.
5. Do People Dress Up?
Most people were wearing Hello Kitty Merchandise such as t-shirts and dresses. Every once in awhile I would spot someone decked out in costume. The costumes were rare, but they did happen!
My Hello Kitty Cafe Goodies!!!!
I purchased the Bow Water, the Coffee Mug, macarons & cookies!
The bow water was the cheapest thing you could purchase at the Hello Kitty Cafe. For $3 it could be yours, so I'm sure this was the top item sold. I spotted so many people waiting in that line purchasing only the water! It is the cutest water bottle ever! I just don't know if I would wait in that long of a line for just a water.
You also get free stickers when you purchase a food item! I thought the stickers were pretty cute and I will be putting them somewhere in my office as decoration!
The Hello Kitty Coffee Mug! I honestly didn't plan on purchasing the mug. I had my heart set on a t-shirt. Once I saw that the Hello Kitty Cafe t-shirts looked like one of the many Hello Kitty shirts my daughter and I have from Target, I decided the mug was the way to go. The t-shirts were the only disappointment! I was expecting Hello Kitty Cafe logo shirts & they were not. Too bad because I would have purchased a few of them for various people, including myself and my daughter.
The Hello Kitty Cafe Cookies! These taste exactly what you would expect them to taste like. A crunchy Christmas Cookie. If you have ever enjoyed a sugar cookie from the Wegmans bakery, the Hello Kitty Cafe cookies taste identical.
The Hello Kitty Macarons were the best part! I was worried that the Hello Kitty Cafe would end up being an over priced scam with stale baked goods, and nope!!! The Macarons were soft and yummy!!!! I wish I would have purchased more than one box!
Hello Kitty Cafe Macaron Flavors:
Hello Kitty: Vanilla Bean
Red: Raspberry Jam
