I would like to thank our parter The Ellicottville Chamber of Commerce for making this post possible!
I can't believe it will be the Forth of July tomorrow!!! I swear 2017 is going by at lightning speed! I seriously can't keep up!!! I feel like I'm going to wake up tomorrow and it's going to be Christmas. Please slow down 2017. Just a little bit ;-)
The past few years my family has headed up to Ellicottville, NY for their annual Summer Fest the weekend before the forth! A weekend jam packed with art, vendors, food, music and good ole family fun. Our highlight of the weekend is always watching the Buffalo Philharmonic jam out at the Holiday Valley stage. It's now become a tradition of ours that we look forward to.
All of the shows during #SummerFest are held at Holiday Valley, yes as in the ski resort. They had a stage set up slopeside and seating was general admission. Think concert in the park feel with folding chairs & blankets at $40 a person. Kids are always free. You could buy VIP tickets for the whole weekend & those seats were reserved in a roped off area with their very own lounge. I believe those tickets were going for around$250, so those tickets are definitely for those devoted to the entire weekend!
The best part about seeing ANY show at Holdiay Valley ANYTIME during the summer/fall is the fact you can bring your own drinks & snacks! Literally ANY drink too so don't forget you wine! Don't feel like lugging that cooler to the show? No worries. You can purchase snacks and drinks stage side as well.
Holiday Valley is one of a dying breed of concert venues that allow such a loose restriction on bringing items into a show so they do ask you to take home what you bring! Keep the resort liter free while respecting the resort and we will be able to enjoy this privilege for years to come!
The Buffalo Philharmonic performed two sets of tunes with a pirates and princesses theme! Beauty & The Beast, Sleeping Beauty, Frozen, Pirates of the Caribbean just to rattle off a few of the features.
It's always fun when your little ones know the songs the band, or I guess orchestra in this case is playing so they can sing and dance along! My daughter was having a total blast!!!!
And of course the show came to an end around 9:30 & were were graced with a pretty spectacular fireworks show while the Buffalo Philharmonic played a little Susa! My daughter loves fireworks and was pretty excited for them, so they were a rad ending to an amazing evening!
Just because #SummerFest has come to an end doesn't mean the fun in Ellicottville is over! Check out http://www.ellicottvilleny.com & take a peak at some of the upcoming festivities they have to offer your family! Jazz fest is just a few weeks away! Who doesn't enjoy a concert at the gazebo? Taste of Ellicottville is also coming up in August! Lot's of fun for the whole family!
What type of events do you love to attend with your family during the summer?
