So the best thing ever happened the other day! Hubby came home and said he needed me to come up with some sorta creation for him to take to a Christmas luncheon they are having at work. For those of you that don't know, I'm the foodie in the relationship & hubby, ughhhh he doesn't know the difference between a hand crafted Kobe burger or a burger from Mc Donald's & NEVER suggests or asks for me to make anything. People alway say omg your hubby must go crazy for your cooking and I'm like ummmmm sure? Because he could honestly care less if the meal was home cooked or not :-/ Go figure I married the only dude on the planet who could care less what he eats -_- So the fact that he actually asked me to make something.... Even if it was for work....Omg!!!! My mind went into planning mode that second.
But there was a catch....
He obviously saw me go into planning mode the second he mentioned me and creations, so it was that moment he reminded me that he works in a factory. He may be a supervisor, but he then went on to tell me that just because the people I'm use to seeing in the office or any of the other bosses might kill for some of my creations, that I had to keep it simple. I guess the people he works with got upset that they weren't serving chicken wings at this years Christmas Party. They sent a sheet around to see what the people choice on food was and chicken wings got the vote. Unfortunately for them chicken wings & the party theme Emmy Awards didn't match, so chicken wings were a bust. So he urged me to come up with something he would of ate before meeting me or for people that prefer chicken wings over "Emmy foods" would like lol
Then it hit me! A cheese plate! Everyone loves cheese. I told hubby my idea and he was like yes! There is no possible way you can go wrong with cheese as long as you have some cheddar on it for folks scared of anything else.
So I went on Pinterest searching for a Christmas Tree shaped cheese plate that I saw a few weeks ago. I thought it was simple yet cute! While on the search I then remembered back when I was living in Florida, Publix use to sell cheese plates shaped as wreaths. I always told my self every Christmas that I would buy one, but never did :( So I decided instead of a tree, I would go the wreath route. Creating this is sorta kinda like buying the one at Publix right?!? It totally counts as a check mark off my bucket list of things I've always wanted to buy ;-)
It was pretty simple to assemble! I kept it pretty basic too! No goat cheeses or super skunky cheeses. Just Cheddar, Mozzarella, Colby & Swiss. Used some rosemary to boarder the cheese and some olives as decorations and bam! We have a wreath!
So if you are one of the lucky people that get to enjoy this plate tomorrow (Friday) I hope you like it ;-) I know several of you do read some of the nonsense I put on the web & you guys totally rock.
To everyone else, hope you think my cheese wreath is cute & hope it can come in handy at any of your upcoming holiday fabulousness you may be hosting :)
