Here it is!!! Haylie's Christmas Tree!!!! My child wanted an "ABC" tree, as in the WHOLE alphabet. My child is abc obsessed and spelling is one of her favorite things! Her wooden alphabet puzzles get played with more than dolls. She even spelled the word "education" at pre-k one day and had all of her teachers going ecstatic because that doesn't happen all that often at that age. My little smarty pants! She definitely doesn't get her spelling talent from me that's for sure lol. I'm sure in this paragraph alone I have typos galore! Only issue with an "ABC" tree was 1. that's freakn 24 letters. Letters run about a dollar a piece so that's a lot of loot for Christmas ornaments for a kids room tree! And 2. there is no way her little white tree could even hold 24 letters. You wouldn't even see any tree!!! My OCD self gets anxiety even thinking of the big pile of letters trying to hang from the thing! Thats when we came up with the Haylie Tree! Her name is letters after all so it was a win with the four year old! She was getting letters on a tree & she couldn't have been more excited about it. This mama was happy this worked out because 6 letters was a hell of a lot cheaper than 24! We headed to Michael's to buy wooden letters & we totally lucked out!!! They had black metal letters with burlap "hooks" in the cheapy section! I believe I paid $1.25 a letter & they were pre-made, ready to hang. No crafty skills needed. The rest of the ornaments are plastic and from the Dollar Tree. I was kind of shocked on how fabulous these ornaments were considering they were $1 for a pack of snowflake, a tube of balls & even the snowflake topper! The flowers and ribbon were in the Dollar Tree craft section! Now let's see how many times between now and Christmas Haylie decides to take everything off and put it back on. It's her tree so she can do what she wants, plus that's entertainment that gives this mama a "break" here and there. Total win in my book ;-)

What a totally awesome idea. She will so enjoy the fact that it is her own, special tree and the letters make it even more so. It doesn't cost much to make a child feel fantastic and give them so much self-esteem. Great job.

This is super cute and very personable. I would do this if I only had one or two kids but with soon to be 5 there would be a forest in my house lol! Love it nonetheless!

How clever it was to get her to forfeit all other letters except the ones in her name. That's a beautiful tree and a special gesture to your very smart daughter. Kudos to you mom.

That was some quick thinking! I'm sure she loves her own Haylie tree more than an alphabet tree! Excellent idea.

What a fantastic idea! I love how the tree looks so nautical as well. That tree is definitely more affordable than buying stuff for a big tree too!

When I saw the first image in the post, I thought 'Oh my...that tree could use some attention'. But after reading the story behind it, I love it.

I love the Haylie tree. :) So cute! And awesome that you found those letters already for Haylie's tree. My littles have their own trees too. My son has LEGO ornaments he made on his and my daughter's is a silver tree with pastel colors ornaments. :)

Wow! Such a cute tree, and you don't even need a Christmas tree stand for this one. I completely agree with Neely that it is the prettiest kids tree.

That is a cute tree. I hope that she enjoys it for years to come. I just put up one tree for our family. I let the kids put the ornaments on it. I need to buy them new ornaments. I wait until after Christmas and stock up for next year.

That's awesome, it's even better when you decided to just put her name instead of the whole alphabet! It feels more special that way, doesn't it!
