Chicken Nugget Bowl

Chicken Nugget Bowl
I don't know if it's because I've been hanging out with a toddler too long or if this really is the tastiest thing ever, but it sure has been a favorite of mine lately!

My daughter refuses to eat meat! Even something as simple as a chicken nugget, she just won't touch it. Hubby and I are the biggest meat eaters ever so to have a vegetarian daughter Ughhh.... She's going to end up starving to death lol..... So to figure out what one does in this situation I did what any mom would do & asked the Google search bar for advice.

I found many post about picky eaters and dipping. My daughter does like to dip fries into ketchup so I thought maybe she would dip the nuggets into mashed potatoes like one mom had suggested. This mom claimed her son was the same way as my daughter, he was a dipper and loved mashed potatoes & the fact he could dip his nuggets in one of his favorite foods got him to eat the nuggets.

My daughter does love mashed potatoes so I figured why not give it a try?

Long story short, it was a total fail! My daughter is still anti meat, but however I thought this idea of dipping was brilliant! I added some corn, cheese & country gravy and yum! My own chicken nugget bowl! Totally deliciousness!

I love mashed potatoes, so I would be dipping away in that lol. I'm sure she'll eventually like some sort of meat. Kids go through stages where they barely eat anything then they eat everything!

I love to dip my chicken nuggets into ranch dressing and dijon mustard mixed together. This sounds more like a balanced meal, with veggies! Those mashed potatoes, though, sound yummy to dip into!

Ooo what a delicious looking bowl of comfort food! I've always loved putting corn, peas or green beans in mashed potatoes but I never thought about adding in others. :)

The only meat my next to the youngest grandchild will eat is chicken nuggets. He's so funny about those nuggets. If they are the wrong color, or heaven forbid, chicken fingers, he won't touch them. Now, if we could only get him to eat potatoes, this would be the perfect meal. Looks yummy!

We struggled for the longest with our son and eating meat, too! He’s come around, but is still very picky with his meat choices. I can’t blame him. I didn’t eat much meat until I was older. Guess he gets it from me. This chicken nugget bowl is right up my alley! I love stuff like this. Thanks for sharing!

My boys tend to prefer veggies to meat as well, much to my dismay. But just like you, I found that if I give them something to dip into (typically ketchup) they are much more likely to eat. Oh the things our kids put us through!

My oldest child (now about to be 10) went through a vegetarian phase. It was definitely sensory and low muscle tone related, but he's outgrown it mostly and eats chicken (went from boneless to on the bone) and fish. I made him black beans and tofu as protein sources and tried to be calm. He is a lot different now. Cooking with me actually helped him try more things. Your daughter may be young, but she can help you wash veggies, place foods on a cookie sheet to bake, top her own pizza (take an English Muffin or buy pre-made pizza dough - I never make it from scratch).
