For parents of young children, everyday wins are an important part of the journey!!! From walking, talking, tying shoes to preparing for kindergarten, there is always something for us to be happy about, especially on those days we feel the parenting world is against us. One small win can change the vibe of an entire day!
We always joke that my daughter Haylie will grow up to be an engineer or architect! From puzzles, numbers, letter patterns, to building things, those are the activities my daughter chooses to do for fun! She definitely doesn't get this from her mama because I'm sure this post alone will be filled with typos ;-) She is definitely my little smarty pants and her everyday wins sure make me proud!!!
I had Haylie a few years after most of my friends had kids, so Haylie is always the "baby" of the bunch & the only girl! Younger children are fascinated with almost everything older kids play with, including LEGO® sets. All of my besties have sons obsessed with building all things LEGO® so it was kind of a given she would fall in love with these sets since she just has to do everything they do! LEGO sets are better than all the Dino's and trucks she was playing with before, so if LEGO toys is what she wants, then that's what she will get & it makes this mama very happy. Just look at how cute these sets are ;-)
Unfortunately the big sets are a little too complex for the younger ones so LEGO Juniors is the perfect way to set youngsters (aged 4-7) up for “success,” and grow their independence & confidence; the products are perfectly matched to the building skills of their age & stage.
Every parent loves to see that first “ah ha” moment in which their child learns and discovers something that builds her confidence and independence. Here are some of the key LEGO Juniors features developed for building success:
One of the LEGO sets Haylie was sent was the LEGO Juniors Family House Set !! Perfect for her since she loves playing "house" with little figurines & she also got to use her smarty pants talent of building things! Each bag was labeled and a provided and totally awesome booklet with picture color, illustration directions made building an easy task for my child with a LEGO set type of brain!
In parenting it’s not the huge milestones (like being 100% potty trained or climbing & buckling themselves up in the booster seat) that solely build confidence and self-worth. It’s the everyday wins that help build the foundation for the never-give-up-spirit that murmurs over and over again ” I can do it”.
I just couldn't stop staring at Haylie & her sweet "I Can Do It!!!" face while the house was constructed with the ideal synergy of age-appropriate challenges and creative play. And if your kiddo is anything like mine, they’ll be pretty excited with this set’s inclusion of a swimming pool!!! There might be snow on the ground here in WNY, but Haylie's LEGO set people had one heck of a pool party that afternoon!

This a about 20 years too late for my son but I do corporate team building. Sometimes, companies are looking for toys to build and give to charity. I will add these to my list.

I think LEGO Juniors is a great idea. It introduces the kids to LEGOs without the frustration of a kit that's too advanced for them.

That is exactly how I feel. It's a great introduction to building with blocks and to using their ideas and imaginations to make their structures come to life.

That's a cute set. I have known a couple of children who struggled with the building because there were no traditional instructions, this would be good for kids like that.

Lego was my favorite toy when I was a kid and that was a long time ago and still it was our kids number one educational toy now. Building blocks boost our child's motor skills, language skills, and divergent problem solving.

I love watching kids figure out puzzles and build things right in front of our eyes. It's so inspiring and exciting watching them. I don't have kids myself, but I have a lot of younger cousins and watching them makes me proud. I do think it's important to celebrate those every day small wins, because they're a part of the larger wins and the bigger picture with kiddos! xx Adaleta Avdic
