One of my favorite appetizers at a restaurant!!! Mozzarella Sticks! Unfortunately making them at home was never the same for me. Baking and legit deep frying just never worked out. Either my food tasted like oil or not oily enough lol....
then we got our air fryer and omg!!! Total game changer! Deep fried taste without that super oily taste. I will forever be making mozzarella sticks at home.
So easy to make and the best part?!
You can make these in bulk and keep them in the freezer until it’s time to cook.
• 2 large eggs
• 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
• 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
• 10 mozzarella sticks
• marinara/pizza sauce for dunking
Take your mozzarella sticks & cut them in halves.
Beat the eggs in a bowl. Combine the Italian seasoning and breadcrumbs in a second bowl.
Dip a mozzarella stick into the egg mixture and coat it completely.
Dip the same mozzarella stick into the bowl with the breadcrumbs and coat completely.
Transfer to a baking sheet and line them up so they are not touching. Freeze for a 1/2 hour.
Coat the mozzarella sticks again, and then stick them in the freezer again.
Set your air fryer to 400°F. Air fry the mozzarella sticks for 8 to 10!minutes until the exterior is golden and crispy.
Serve with marinara/pizza sauce & enjoy!
